Nevzat Önal, Managing Director of Cerme ICT, has today received the HOGIAF Award in the category ‘Best Innovative Entrepreneur’ from The Hague deputy mayor Henk Kool.
HOGIAF is the Turkish abbreviation of ‘Federation of Young Entrepreneurs in the Netherlands’. The federation was founded in 2006 by six business associations to which mainly immigrant entrepreneurs are affiliated. HOGIAF originated from the need of immigrant entrepreneurs for a helping hand with the various facets involved in entrepreneurship.
Thirteen categories
The Awards – created on the occasion of the celebration of 400 years of diplomatic relations between the Netherlands and Turkey – go to entrepreneurs in thirteen different categories. Nevzat Önal was nominated in the category ‘Best Innovative Entrepreneur’. The other categories included: Best Female Entrepreneur, Best CSR Entrepreneur, Best International Entrepreneur, Best Investor Netherlands to Turkey, Best Investor Turkey to The Netherlands.
Innovation
Nevzat Önal (38 years old), after studying electrical engineering at TU Delft and a number of years of work experience, started doing business. First with Cerme ICT BV where they supply shop automation / barcode scanning systems taking into account the latest state of the art. With Cash Processor they have developed an innovative product that automates cash processing. The solution is innovative because of the simplicity with which it can be linked to all kinds of systems, the speed and accuracy with which it works. Everything entirely in our own development.
